چکیده

We study entanglement in thermofield double states of strongly coupled CFTs by analyzing two-sided Reissner-Nordström solutions in AdS. The central object of study is the mutual information between a pair of regions, one on each asymptotic boundary of the black hole. For large regions the mutual information is positive and for small ones it vanishes; we compute the critical length scale, which goes to infinity for extremal black holes, of the transition. We also generalize the butterfly effect of Shenker and Stanford [1] to a wide class of charged black holes, showing that mutual information is disrupted upon perturbing the system and waiting for a time of order logE/δE in units of the temperature. We conjecture that the parametric form of this timescale is universal. email: [email protected] ar X iv :1 40 5. 73 65 v2 [ he pth ] 2 3 Ju n 20 14

Black hole entropy and quantum information 1

We review some recently established connections between the mathematics of black hole entropy in string theory and that of multipartite entanglement in quantum information theory. In the case of N = 2 black holes and the entanglement of three qubits, the quartic [SL(2)] 3 invariant, Cayley's hyperdeterminant, provides both the black hole entropy and the measure of tripartite entanglement. In th...

Near Extremal Black Hole Entropy as Entanglement Entropy via AdS2/CFT1

We point out that the entropy of (near) extremal black holes can be interpreted as the entanglement entropy of dual conformal quantum mechanics via AdS2/CFT1. As an explicit example, we study near extremal BTZ black holes and derive this claim from AdS3/CFT2. We also analytically compute the entanglement entropy in the two dimensional CFT of a free Dirac fermion compactified on a circle at fini...

Entanglement Entropy of AdS Black Holes

We review recent progress in understanding the entanglement entropy of gravitational configurations for anti-de Sitter gravity in two and three spacetime dimensions using the AdS/CFT correspondence. We derive simple expressions for the entanglement entropy of twoand three-dimensional black holes. In both cases, the leading term of the entanglement entropy in the large black hole mass expansion ...

Erice Lectures on Black Holes and Attractors

These lectures give an elementary introduction to the subject of four dimensional black holes (BHs) in supergravity and the Attractor Mechanism in the extremal case. Some thermodynamical properties are discussed and some relevant formulæ for the critical points of the BH effective potential are given. The case of MaxwellEinstein-axion-dilaton (super)gravity is discussed in detail. Analogies amo...
